NIKON SB 600 has auto FP High-Speed Sync enables the use of Fill-Flash even in bright daylight with wide aperture settings for the achievement of outstanding results and new creative possibilities, including the effective blurring for of out-of-focus background elements. An optional color filter set SJ-1 is also available, allowing imaginative shooting to be pushed even further.
White balance is optimized through the use of flash color information obtained by the Speedlight. SB 600 also features FV lock, which gives the user the convenience of being able to maintain the measured flash value while recomposing the shot to achieve the appropriate flash output for the subject.
SB 600 also offers uncomplicated operation made simpler by an easy-to-view LCD with only six buttons, each of which is backlit and simple to understand.
SB 600 also delivers plenty of style, both in its compact dimensions and a triangular motif consistent with the Nikon D-SLR theme.

Made a huge difference in my indoor pictures
I have never used an external flash for my Nikon, but I was noticing that all my indoor pictures just didn't look like they do in real life. Once I put this flash on, it changed everything. It is a must have if you have a nice Nikon like I do.
Excellent flash!
I just bought my second SB-600 and love it. I'm now enjoying the capabilities of the Nikon Creative Lighting System with two flashes and will probably buy a third one soon. I can control both flashes from my Nikon D300 and can easily increase or decrease the output of each flash from my camera menu. I'm using them to shoot weddings among other things. Bought the Nikon colored gels as well and these are also proving to be very useful. Having remote flashes with TTL control is simply amazing, a few years ago you had to pay THOUSANDS of dollars for a setup from Quantum capable of doing this. If you're new to flash photography do learn to use your SB-600, SB-800 or SB-900 off-camera, it makes a world of difference. It certainly beats the ugly, flat lighting that you get with on-camera flash. Two thumbs up to Nikon for this amazing system.
Amazing picture quality with this flash
I purchased this flash for my Nikon D-60. I love the adjustable tilt and swivel. I can swivel the flash when I take vertical shots. It charges very quickly. I can get very decent indoor shots even from 50+ feet away....a big difference compared to the internal flash in the D-60 and a night-and-day difference compared to the point-and-shoot types.
